Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for failing to tackle the nation’s severe economic crisis, specifically noting that 17 million Nigerians are currently facing starvation.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Abdullahi argued that the ruling party is preoccupied with the 2027 election cycle rather than the urgent needs of the populace. He asserted that the government displays a lack of concern for the well-being of citizens, noting that the administration has remained silent despite the staggering number of people living in extreme poverty.
Abdullahi remarked that the APC’s discourse centers almost exclusively on future political maneuvering as if they were an opposition party, neglecting their responsibility to resolve current issues such as kidnappings and widespread hunger. He emphasized that the ADC was formed to shift the country away from the cynical political practices that have contributed to the current national crisis, advocating for a new approach to governance that prioritizes the welfare of the people over partisan power struggles.
