York Knights rally to defeat Hull FC

York Knights overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Hull FC, marking their third consecutive Super League win and leaving the visitors struggling with their away record.

The York Knights achieved a historic milestone by securing their third straight Super League victory, while Hull FC’s struggles on the road continued. Despite trailing 16-8 at halftime, Mark Applegarth’s squad rallied to claim their sixth win of the season, effectively moving ahead of Hull in the standings. Hull, which has only managed one away win all year, initially took command with tries from Aidan Sezer, Tom Briscoe, and Joe Batchelor during a quick 12-minute burst.

York responded with scores from David Nofoaluma, Jon Bennison, Denive Balmforth, and Nikau Williams, with Bennison adding two conversions. Hull struggled with errors throughout the second half, allowing York back into the contest. The result was sealed in the final moments when York hooker Paul McShane executed a crucial tackle, forcing the ball loose from Hull’s Herman Ese’ese just as he appeared ready to tie the match inches from the try line.
