Moses Simon Opens Up About Failed Premier League Moves

Moses Simon reveals how his obsession with joining clubs like Liverpool and Tottenham between 2016 and 2018 negatively impacted his professional form and career trajectory.

Super Eagles striker Moses Simon has shed light on the missed opportunities to join several prominent clubs, including Liverpool, Tottenham, Brighton, Fulham, Hull City, and Lyon. During an interview with Urban Dwell Sport, the veteran winger identified his intense focus on securing a transfer between 2016 and 2018 as the biggest regret of his career.

Simon explained that his obsession with moving to a bigger club during that two-year period caused his performance levels to drop significantly. He noted that while media reports about interest from these top teams were sometimes true, the lack of a finalized deal led to deep frustration. He even reached a point where he became indifferent toward his own match participation, mistakenly believing that a lack of playing time would force his current club to offload him to interested parties.

The forward recounted how the club sought a massive profit of 25 million on his contract, despite having initially signed him for just 1 million. He now views these years as a vital learning experience, intending to use his story as a cautionary tale for aspiring footballers who may prioritize transfer speculation over their current form.
