NCC Named a Leading Federal Agency for Public Service Reform

The Nigerian Communications Commission has been recognized by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms as one of the top three performing federal agencies for 2026.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) earned a top-three ranking in the 2026 Public Service Reforms Performance Assessment, an evaluation conducted by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR). Following the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, the NCC was recognized for its dedication to reform indicators such as Freedom of Information compliance, fiscal integrity, and digital accessibility.

Representing NCC CEO Dr. Aminu Maida, Engr. Abraham Oshadami accepted the honor, highlighting it as a clear validation of the organization’s institutional progress. He stated that this recognition provides motivation to further enhance service quality and transparency for telecommunications subscribers across the country.

In recent years, the NCC has implemented several initiatives to boost accountability. Key developments include the National Coverage Map for monitoring network performance and the release of quarterly data reports. Additionally, the commission has pushed for clearer tariff structures and stricter corporate governance to better protect consumer interests. BPSR Director-General Dasuki Arabi praised these efforts during the ceremony, which coincided with United Nations Public Service Day and also honored 20 exceptional individual public servants.
