Hon. Peter Kanang Gwom, the Plateau State Commissioner for Environment, Climate Change and Mineral Development, has offered his sympathies to the families of seven individuals who perished during a mining pit failure in the Gassa community of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area. The tragedy took place on the evening of Wednesday, August 12, 2026, as the victims were working at the location.
