David Daser, the head of the Digital Bridge Institute, has called on the Federal Character Commission to integrate artificial intelligence and data-driven systems into their operations. Speaking at a leadership retreat in Ekiti State, Daser argued that modern technology could significantly bolster fairness, transparency, and objectivity in government recruitment processes.
Daser emphasized that while technology serves as a powerful tool, it should remain secondary to human judgment. He noted that the Federal Character Principle is essential for maintaining national stability, and leveraging digital tools would allow the Commission to better measure and defend its mandate. By adopting standardized digital recruitment templates and comprehensive data governance, the Commission could improve its effectiveness across all ministries.
The proposal includes a potential partnership between the FCC and the Digital Bridge Institute. DBI offers expertise in cybersecurity and data analytics to support the Commission’s digital transformation. Daser stressed that this initiative aims to strengthen Nigeria’s governance framework rather than replace human oversight, ensuring that final decisions remain transparent and accountable.
