Draper, currently ranked 143rd, struggled with consistency throughout the match. He recorded 47 unforced errors and committed 12 double faults against the 64th-ranked Landaluce. This outing marked just his second competitive appearance since June, following a recent loss at the Canadian Open.
The 24-year-old has battled significant health setbacks over the past year, with arm and shoulder injuries causing his ranking to slide as low as 160th. Although he showed no physical signs of distress during this match, his composure wavered significantly once the score leveled at 5-5. To address his recurring fitness issues, Draper has sought the guidance of biomechanics specialist Carlos Cano.
