Rivers United assistant coach Yemi Daniel Olanrewaju has officially declined an offer to become the head coach of Shooting Stars. The position became available following the departure of Nurudeen Aweroro last week.
Despite the vacancy, Olanrewaju stated that he intends to finish his current contract with Rivers United, which runs through the 2026-27 season. He highlighted the positive working environment at his current club and expressed strong appreciation for technical manager Finidi George.
Addressing the rumors on social media, the former Enyimba coach emphasized that while he respects Shooting Stars, his commitment to his existing contract remains his top priority. He noted that he values consistency and does not wish to depart from his current role mid-season. Olanrewaju praised the Rivers United management for their continued trust and support.
