Taraba SEMA Denies Connection to Warehouse Raided by DSS

TSEMA has denied any ownership or involvement with a Jalingo warehouse where the DSS reportedly uncovered diverted relief materials.

The Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (TSEMA) has officially stated it has no association with a warehouse in Jalingo that was recently searched by the Department of State Services (DSS). The agency explicitly denied any involvement with the site or the relief goods reportedly found within it.

In a formal announcement this Monday, the agency clarified that it did not store, nor did it authorize the storage of, any supplies at the location targeted by DSS operatives. TSEMA requested that the media and the public refer all questions regarding the operation and the confiscated items to the DSS, which is currently managing the investigation.

The agency reiterated its dedication to its core duties, specifically disaster response and humanitarian aid, while emphasizing that it released this statement to stop rumors connecting them to the private facility in Sintali Ward. Reports had surfaced claiming that DSS officers recovered millions of naira worth of food items donated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) during the night operation. While it was reported that four individuals—including a warehouse owner and three local rice traders—were taken into custody, the DSS has not yet released an official statement confirming these details.
