Jadon Sancho prefers international transfer over Premier League return

Free agent Jadon Sancho is eyeing a move away from the Premier League despite interest from English clubs following his departure from Manchester United.

Jadon Sancho, currently a free agent, is leaning toward a transfer outside of England, even as several Premier League organizations show interest. The 26-year-old winger is carefully reviewing his future six weeks following the expiration of his contract at Manchester United.

Borussia Dortmund remains a potential landing spot, having previously hosted the player for 158 matches across two stints. Although Sancho, who moved to Old Trafford for £73 million in 2021, is prioritizing opportunities abroad, he has not completely ruled out staying in his home country.

The England international, who has earned 23 caps and scored three goals for his country, has experienced a turbulent recent career. He spent the 2023-24 season on loan with Aston Villa, where he made 39 appearances and helped secure Champions League qualification. Subsequently, he completed a loan spell at Chelsea during the 2024-25 season, appearing in 41 games. That arrangement included a mandatory purchase clause, but Chelsea ultimately paid a £5 million fee to cancel the deal and return him to Manchester United.

To keep himself in shape, Sancho has been training with the non-league side Flixton, though the club has clarified that he is not currently on trial with them.
