Singer Fola Reveals He Was Arrested On His First Day In Lagos

During a recent chat with Beat 99.9FM, singer Fola shared a surprising story about his move to Lagos and the bumpy start that nearly sent him back home.

Asked what first drew him to the city back in 2018, Fola replied simply:

“I wanted to see it.”

But the reality of Lagos life, he admitted, was far from smooth.

“It’s been rough, bro. You know it was so hard at first initially, but Lagos embraced me,”

he said, reflecting on the tough living conditions and the uphill climb in his career during those early days.

Then came the shocking revelation:

“Bro, this is funny, so funny. The first day, the very first day I got to Lagos, I was arrested, bro. Yeah. I slept at a police station.”

Though he didn’t share full details of the arrest, Fola admitted the experience almost broke his resolve and had him considering packing his bags to leave the city for good.
