Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Set for April 2028 Prison Release
The projected release date for Sean “Diddy” Combs has been moved forward to April 25, 2028, according to updated Federal Bureau of Prisons records.
The 56-year-old music mogul is currently serving a four-year sentence at the low-security Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey following his 2025 conviction on prostitution-related charges.
This shift marks a significant reduction from his previous expected release of June 4, 2028. The adjustment is primarily attributed to his participation in the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), which allows eligible inmates to earn up to a one-year sentence reduction upon successful completion.
His representatives confirmed that he has been an active participant in the program since November 2025, focusing on his sobriety and personal growth.
The timeline for his release has fluctuated several times over the past year. Initially projected to walk free in May 2028, his stay was extended to June after reports surfaced of alleged prison infractions during his first weeks at Fort Dix.
These included claims of consuming “homemade alcohol” and participating in unauthorized three-way phone calls, though his legal team vehemently denied the alcohol allegations and argued the calls were related to legal counsel.
As he continues his rehabilitation, Combs is also pursuing an appeal of his sentence. His lawyers filed court papers in December seeking to overturn the conviction or further reduce his time behind bars, arguing that the original sentencing was excessively harsh.
While he remains incarcerated, he has reportedly taken on a work assignment in the prison’s chapel library and remains focused on reuniting with his family.
