Chief Samson Nnamani has officially asserted his status as the true governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, despite recent primary election confusion.
While other primaries reportedly resulted in the selection of Chief Uche Nnaji and Chief Dona Nwogbo, Nnamani insists his own nomination on May 24, 2026, remains the only valid outcome.
Representing Nnamani at the Enugu Press Centre, spokesperson Dr. Buchi Nnaji dismissed reports of party factionalization. He emphasized that the Supreme Court has previously resolved such disputes, rendering current claims of divisions invalid.
Regarding his reported suspension, Nnamani labeled the move a desperate tactic, pointing out the contradiction in being excluded while simultaneously having votes tallied for him during the conflicting primary events.
Nnamani highlighted that his campaign actively engaged members across all 17 local government areas, whereas his rivals allegedly avoided direct electoral competition.
He maintained that his victory was properly observed by both INEC officials and representatives from the party’s national headquarters in Abuja. Looking ahead, Nnamani promised that a PDP government under his leadership would dismantle policies hindering the economic and social welfare of Enugu residents.
