Authorities tracked the suspects to the Agoro/Imodi area using actionable intelligence. A shootout ensued when the criminals confronted law enforcement. Two suspects were killed in the exchange, while others fled the scene sustaining gunshot injuries. Officers recovered an AK-47 rifle, mobile devices, and items suspected to be related to ransom demands from the site.

The remains of the deceased have been taken to a morgue, and an active investigation continues to locate the remaining gang members. Commissioner Ojajuni praised the tactical teams for their professional conduct and urged citizens to continue providing information that helps maintain public safety.
