Nasarawa United has been charged with violating the NPFL Framework and Rules during their Matchday 18 encounter with Rivers United on December 22, 2024.

The breach occurred due to encroachment onto the field of play during the match. The NPFL found that Nasarawa failed to maintain proper conduct by both their team and supporters, which resulted in an assault on the away team and the center referee, Musibaudeen Ibrahim.

As a result, the NPFL has imposed a fine of N3 million on Nasarawa United, with N1 million each for the breaches of encroachment onto the pitch, failure to ensure proper conduct by their team and supporters, and failure to provide adequate security.

Additionally, Nasarawa will face a deduction of three points and three goals for the assault on the center referee.

The Lafia-based team has been ordered to identify and prosecute the individuals involved in the assault on the away team, providing updates on their progress within seven working days.

Furthermore, the NPFL has decided to close the Lafia City Stadium to fans indefinitely until security measures are improved, including the barricading of the state box. The club is required to report its compliance with these directives to the NPFL security department.
