The Enugu State Police Command has arrested 48-year-old native doctor Enuwa Odugu and 67-year-old Uwakwe Eze for the alleged conspiracy and murder of Uwakwe’s 26-year-old son, Chikwado Celestine Eze.

Reports indicate that Chikwado, who had recently obtained a visa to travel abroad, was taken to the native doctor’s shrine for rituals intended to fortify him with charms.

However, during the ritual, Chikwado was reportedly placed in a coffin and died in the process.

He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and his body was subsequently deposited in the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

Police spokesperson DSP Daniel Ndukwe confirmed that the native doctor admitted to the crime, explaining that Chikwado’s death was due to his failure to follow specific ritualistic instructions given prior to the ceremony.

Ndukwe confirmed that the case is currently under investigation, and the suspects will be arraigned in court once the investigation is complete. The police are gathering all necessary evidence to ensure a thorough prosecution.
