Man Allegedly Kills Cousin in Makurdi Brawl, Mob Attacks Suspect

A 25-year-old man, Abdulraman Rabiu, reportedly fatally stabbed his 35-year-old cousin, Adamu Abubakar, during a violent clash in Makurdi, Benue State.

The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in the Lafia Garage area of North Bank.

According to police sources, the altercation turned deadly when Rabiu allegedly attacked Abubakar with a knife.

Enraged bystanders then assaulted the suspect, severely beating him before he was rescued and rushed to Divine Love Hospital in Low Level, Makurdi, for medical attention.

Both men were taken to the same hospital, where Abubakar was pronounced dead during treatment. Authorities have transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further inquiry.
