Netherlands-based research firm Dealroom.co has named Lagos, Nigeria, the fastest-growing tech ecosystem in the world for 2025, surpassing Istanbul, Turkey, and Pune, India.

The announcement was made in Dealroom’s recently released Global Tech Ecosystem Index 2025 report.

Lagos earned the top spot thanks to its homegrown five unicorns: Interswitch, Flutterwave, Jumia, OPay, and Moniepoint.

The report highlights that Lagos, along with other cities in the category, is fostering a new generation of innovative tech companies.

“This year, Lagos (#1) is topping the list, having created 5 unicorns and grown its ecosystem valuation 11.6x since 2017 despite a smaller economy,” the report stated.
