Kaduna College Of Nursing Staff Begin Three-Day Strike Over Promotion, Welfare Disputes
Staff of the Kaduna State College of Nursing Sciences have begun a three-day warning strike, halting academic and administrative activities across its campuses in Kaduna, Kafanchan, and Pambegua.
The industrial action, led by workers’ unions, is in protest against what they described as management’s refusal to promote eligible staff for three consecutive years. In a statement signed by union chairman Dr. Daniel Danboyi, the workers accused the college leadership of stalling career progression and neglecting staff welfare despite repeated appeals. lactating Missy Luv
The unions said the strike, which runs from Monday to Wednesday, is intended as a warning but could escalate into an indefinite action if their demands are not met. They also called on Governor Uba Sani to intervene before the crisis worsens.
Students expressed frustration over the disruption, with some warning that repeated strikes risk derailing their graduation timelines and discouraging others from pursuing nursing careers in the state.
Efforts to reach the college provost for comment were unsuccessful as calls and messages went unanswered at the time of filing this report.
