Gan Allah Leader Claims Systematic Persecution of Fulani in Plateau

Garba Abdullahi Muhammed of the Gan Allah Fulani Development Association has accused local groups and security agencies of orchestrating a campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing against the Fulani people in Plateau State.

Garba Abdullahi Muhammed, the leader of the Plateau State chapter of the Gan Allah Fulani Development Association, has declared that the Fulani community is facing genocide and ethnic cleansing. Muhammed, who also leads the Coalition of Fulani Registered Organizations, asserts that local indigenes are executing a calculated strategy to expel the Fulani population from the state.

Speaking in Barkin Ladi, Muhammed challenged the common narrative that Fulani bandits are responsible for local violence. He argues that his internal investigations show Fulani herders are actually the primary victims, with thousands killed over several years. Furthermore, he accused the Directorate of State Services (DSS) of conducting unlawful raids, seizing property, and abusing women within Fulani communities.

The group reports that local militias and bandits have seized grazing lands and rustled livestock, destroying their means of survival. Muhammed is urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and instruct Governor Caleb Mutfwang to address these grievances. The organization plans to submit formal petitions to the United Nations, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch to seek justice and international attention regarding their situation.
