EPL: Manchester United In Talks With Osimhen’s Camp – Report

Manchester United have reportedly begun talks with the representatives of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as the club steps up its pursuit of a top-quality forward for the upcoming season.

In a Monday report by Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato, Osimhen—on a dry loan from Napoli to Galatasaray—has been in sensational form, recording 33 goals and 8 assists in 37 games across all competitions this season.

Despite his standout performances, a permanent move to the Turkish side seems improbable due to financial limitations.

“Although it now seems unlikely that he will stay in Turkey, the Nigerian striker is attracting strong interest from the Premier League. Conveniently, Manchester United are seriously considering him for next season and have already held talks with his representatives,” the report stated.

The 26-year-old Lagos-born striker, Victor Osimhen, has garnered interest from several clubs, including the Saudi Pro League. Last summer, Al Hilal reportedly made a €50 million offer for Osimhen, which was not successful.

This time, the Saudi club Neom has shown interest, but Osimhen is said to be more inclined towards a move to the Premier League.

The financial terms for Osimhen’s transfer are significant. The striker is reportedly asking for €12 million annually, a salary that only a few Premier League clubs can afford.

Manchester United, reportedly unhappy with their current attacking options, view Osimhen as a potential option if they fail to sign their top target, Victor Gyökeres. The Red Devils are also monitoring Ipswich’s Liam Delap.

Though Osimhen remains under contract with Napoli, his future will depend on whether United are willing to meet the club’s asking price, which is expected to exceed €75 million, including bonuses.
