Governor Biodun Oyebanji officially accepted his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) this Tuesday. This formal handover followed his win in the recent gubernatorial election held last Saturday.
Representing the INEC Chairman, Professor Joseph Amupitan, Resident Electoral Commissioner Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi conducted the presentation at the commission’s headquarters in Ado-Ekiti. During the ceremony, Dr. Omoseyindemi praised the Governor for his success and expressed gratitude to the residents of Ekiti for maintaining a peaceful environment during the voting process.
The commissioner noted that the orderly nature of the election demonstrated the dedication of the electoral body and relevant stakeholders toward bolstering democratic governance within the region. He also called upon political leaders to consistently honor democratic principles. The ceremony drew an audience that included government representatives, party officials, traditional leaders, and local supporters.
