Chloe Othen Describes ‘Terrifying’ Ordeal of Being Punched and Bitten by Former Partner

A former Miss Universe finalist has told a UK court she feared for her life during a violent confrontation with her ex-boyfriend at his £1.5 million Knightsbridge home.

Chloe Othen, 34, alleged that 33-year-old Ricky Lawrence, a whisky merchant, attacked her during an encounter in October 2022. Speaking at Isleworth Crown Court, she described being pinned down, punched, and bitten in a terrifying ordeal that left her with multiple wounds and in need of hospital treatment.

Prosecutor Sheilagh Davies told jurors that Lawrence allegedly bit Othen on the legs, arm, shoulder, and neck — wounds so severe that one became infected, requiring a tetanus shot and antibiotics. During the incident, the court heard, Lawrence also issued chilling threats to stab both Othen and her new partner, Bora Guccuk.

Guccuk, who had phoned Othen during the alleged attack, reported hearing her scream for help before contacting police. Othen later escaped to the Berkeley Hotel and sought medical care, reeling from the trauma.

Describing her relationship with Lawrence, Othen called it “toxic” and “narcissistic,” noting emotional volatility and periods of obsessive behaviour. Though their formal relationship ended in May 2022 after six months, she said they continued a turbulent on-and-off dynamic. She also accused Lawrence of stalking her across international trips, including to Cannes and Mykonos.

The court was presented with disturbing messages retrieved from Lawrence’s phone.

In one, he wrote, “I’ll do everything in my power to f**k you up,” and called her a “lying little whore.”

Lawrence has denied one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The trial remains underway.
