Ademola Lookman Agrees Inter Milan Move In €40M Deal Amid Atalanta Stand-Off
Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman is on the brink of a major transfer, having reportedly reached an agreement to join Inter Milan from Atalanta in a deal worth €40 million.
According to top Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter have made a firm move for the Nigerian star and are prepared to submit an official offer, with personal terms already agreed upon.
“Inter are serious about Lookman, agreement with the player, €40m ready for Atalanta,” Di Marzio confirmed.
Lookman, still under contract with Atalanta until 2027, is said to have given the green light for the switch. However, while Inter are firm on their €40M bid, Atalanta are reportedly holding out for €50M, creating potential friction in the negotiation process.
Despite the valuation gap, Inter are banking on a prior understanding—a promise allegedly made by Atalanta to allow the Nigerian forward to leave this summer if a suitable offer arrived.
Inter, Champions League runners-up, are not keen on a drawn-out transfer saga. If Atalanta remain unmoved on their asking price, Inter could pivot to alternative targets, including Fiorentina’s Nico González.
Lookman is coming off a brilliant 2024–25 season, where he notched 15 goals and played a crucial role in Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League victory, including his historic hat-trick in the final.
A move to Inter Milan would mark a step up for the 26-year-old and could make him one of Nigeria’s most prominent stars in Serie A in recent years.
