Ademola Adeleke, the governorship candidate for the Accord Party in Osun State, is calling on voters to back his re-election, citing his track record of regional growth. Speaking at the Arise Townhall on Tuesday, Adeleke recounted his journey since the 2018 election, which he claimed was unfair, prompting him to pursue further education before his 2022 victory.
Addressing concerns about fiscal responsibility, Adeleke promised that state resources would directly benefit local residents, assuring them that more progress is planned. He specifically pointed to his infrastructure initiatives, noting that his administration successfully finished road projects that had been neglected for years. He firmly rejected claims that these roads were built to poor standards, asserting that he hired professional Nigerian engineers and personally oversaw the work.
Regarding his signature dancing, Adeleke dismissed his critics, arguing that his personality does not hinder his professional competence. He stated that his family has a natural affinity for music, and he balances his public persona with hard work. He also highlighted his academic background in criminology as a foundation for his security strategy, noting that he has bolstered local defense by recruiting and training 1,500 Amotekun personnel.
Finally, Adeleke accused the All Progressives Congress of using propaganda and intimidation tactics to influence the upcoming vote. Despite these alleged pressures, he remains confident that he will secure a win, emphasizing that he has already taken proactive steps with security authorities to protect the safety of the populace.
