Adamu Abubakar Salami, the All Progressives Congress candidate for the Chanchaga Federal Constituency, has urged young people and all eligible citizens to secure their Permanent Voter Cards. He emphasized that engaging in the current Continuous Voter Registration is essential for determining the results of the 2027 general elections.
During a media briefing in Minna, Salami highlighted that democratic involvement starts with registration. He characterized the voter card as a vital tool that grants citizens the power to select their preferred leaders and impact government policy. He specifically encouraged students, entrepreneurs, and first-time voters in his constituency to treat registration as a primary civic duty rather than delaying until the campaign period.
Salami also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to streamline the online registration platform to remove technical barriers and improve accessibility for users. Furthermore, he commended the collaboration between security forces, electoral officials, and the public, urging all involved parties to maintain this effort to foster a transparent and fair electoral environment for the upcoming 2027 polls.
