Dangote Group Introduces N500,000 Bounty for Reporting Unauthorized Truck Usage

Dangote Industries Limited has launched a whistleblowing program offering a N500,000 reward for credible reports on the illegal use of its trucks for unauthorized goods transport.

Dangote Industries Limited has launched a new whistleblowing campaign aimed at stopping the misuse of its trucks for illegal transport. The company is offering a reward of N500,000 to anyone who provides information that results in the detention of individuals or the seizure of goods being moved illicitly in its vehicles.

The initiative seeks to protect the company’s logistics operations from bad actors using Dangote-branded trucks to carry prohibited items. Management emphasized in a Lagos statement that each subsidiary has strictly defined cargo limits. For instance, Dangote Cement trucks are restricted to cement, limestone, gypsum, coal, and clinker, while Dangote Sugar Refinery vehicles are limited solely to sugar products. Similar protocols apply to NASCON, Packaging, Petroleum Refinery, and Fertilizer divisions.

Any truck caught carrying unapproved materials will be considered involved in illegal haulage. Both the drivers and the owners of the cargo face potential arrest, cargo seizure, and legal prosecution. To assist in these efforts, the company asks the public to provide details such as license plates, cab numbers, vehicle descriptions, and photographs. Reports can be made through dedicated hotlines established for the Obajana, Okpella, and Gboko plants.

Law enforcement, including the police, has been instructed to intercept any company vehicle engaged in unauthorized commercial transit. Dangote Group highlighted that this program is vital for ensuring accountability and transparency across its logistics network while preserving the integrity of its business practices.
