Nigerian military disrupts abduction plot, saves four in Kebbi State

Nigerian Army troops successfully intervened to rescue four kidnapping victims in Kebbi State after receiving intelligence on militant activities.

Soldiers under the Nigerian Army’s Operation FANSAN YAMMA stopped an abduction attempt by suspected militants in Surimi, located within the Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, near the border with Sokoto. During the mission, all four victims were successfully freed, and no soldiers were harmed.

A public announcement on the social media platform X detailed that the mission was prompted by credible reports of terrorist activity in the vicinity. Responding immediately to this intelligence, personnel from the Forward Operating Base in Unashi deployed to the site to intercept the suspects.

When the soldiers reached the location, they engaged the militants with greater force. The suspects, unable to withstand the military response, released the captives and retreated into the wilderness. The victims have since returned to their families. Military leaders emphasized that the mission illustrates their ongoing commitment to protecting civilians and stabilizing the North-West region.
