The incident took place around 9:20 p.m. on September 9, 2024.
State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the details to our correspondent on Wednesday. It is reported that Agboke and the 20-year-old victim got into a fight, during which she allegedly used a broken bottle to stab Azeez in the neck, leading to his death.
Efforts to get the deceased to the hospital were unsuccessful, as he tragically died en route.
Hundeyin stated, “On September 9, 2024, a report was received from the Ijegun area of the state at the Isheri-Oshun Division. The report was made by a man who stated that his son had an argument with a neighbor.”
Hundeyin described the incident, saying, “The victim was stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle by Agboke, causing him serious injuries. He died while being rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
“Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the deceased’s lifeless body on the ground, facing up in a pool of blood, with a deep cut on his neck. The body has been removed and taken to Mainland General Hospital in Yaba for an autopsy.”
