A somber mood has enveloped a village in Nyamira County, Kenya, following the murder of a woman and her two daughters.

The bodies of the victims, who had left home to visit a relative, were discovered in separate ditches in the Motagara and Gesima areas on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

According to NTV, a local administrator confirmed that the women, identified as Jane, Edinah, and Lonah, were killed elsewhere before their bodies were disposed of.

“The women were not killed here; only the bodies were brought back. She had gone to visit her sister when the tragic events unfolded,” a local investigator stated.

Footage shared by local media captured residents’ anguish as they faced the tragic loss.

A grieving villager expressed deep sorrow, lamenting the lack of action concerning the increasing number of violent deaths in the area.

He called on the government to intervene, highlighting the inaction of local authorities.

“Five people have died, not from illness but from murder. We plead with the government for help. People are being killed mercilessly, and although our local authorities are aware, they have never responded adequately,” he said.
