Wike Threatens Demolition of Buildings Constructed on Illegally Acquired Land

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has ordered the demolition of buildings constructed on land seized through forged documents and warned officials to enforce these rules strictly.

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, issued a firm warning on Tuesday against individuals using fraudulent documents to seize land. During the commencement of the Southern Parkway service carriageways project, Wike instructed the Acting Director of Development Control to immediately demolish any structures built by those holding forged land titles.

Wike expressed frustration with the Acting Director of Development Control for failing to attend the official event. He warned that the official’s position is not permanent and stressed that poor job performance would lead to consequences. The Minister emphasized that his administration will not tolerate unauthorized development. He directed the department to coordinate with the land authorities to identify and remove all illegal buildings, asserting that restoring order is necessary for the benefit of the FCT.
