US President Trump Deports 6,000 Illegal Migrants in First Two Weeks
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has reportedly deported nearly 6,000 illegal immigrants since President Donald Trump took office.
According to federal data shared, ICE has been averaging around 370–400 deportations per day over the past 15 days. On Monday alone, 512 individuals were deported, while 715 individuals with outstanding immigration violations were arrested.
Of those detained, 73% had known criminal convictions or pending charges, including offenses such as homicide, sexual crimes against minors, and drug trafficking. Authorities also arrested six affiliates of the Tren de Aragua (TDA) cartel, along with nine other suspected gang members.
The first deportation flights to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, reportedly began on Tuesday, targeting individuals classified as “high-threat” migrants linked to organized crime.
Since Trump’s swearing-in, ICE has arrested nearly 9,000 individuals for immigration violations, with many having multiple convictions or pending criminal charges.
On Tuesday, Trump addressed reporters in the Oval Office, praising the efforts of his administration in cracking down on criminal aliens.
‘The volume of crime that they have and the viciousness of the crimes, these people are horrible people, and if somebody thinks they’re going to be wonderful citizens someday, they’re wrong. It’s not going to happen,’ Trump said.
‘If I can get them out of the country and be in some other country where they’re glad to have them because they make a small fee compared to what we’ve paid to a private prison, or to put them in one of our prisons and cost even more money, I think it would be great,’ he continued.
‘I’d love to get them the hell out of our country,’ the president noted.
