US President-Elect Donald Trump to Implement Over 200 Executive Actions on First Day in Office

President-elect Donald Trump is set to sign over 200 executive actions on his first day in office following his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, January 20.

Trump, 78, who triumphed in the November presidential elections by defeating Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, will take over from incumbent President Joe Biden.

The incoming Trump administration plans to sign 50 executive orders, among over 200 executive actions, immediately after Donald Trump is inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, January 20.

The orders include measures focused on border security, domestic energy production, and ensuring federal workers are hired based on merit.

Jason Miller, a senior adviser to the incoming administration, confirmed that many of the executive actions would be issued as part of “omnibus” directives. Trump had previously announced intentions to sign at least 25 executive orders on his first day in office.

“This is a massive, record-setting, unmatched first wave,” an official told the outlet. “This is the most extensive list of executive actions in American history, all guided by a relentless commitment to deliver on the campaign promise.”

Among the planned executive actions, President-elect Donald Trump is expected to declare a national border emergency upon taking office, effectively closing the southern U.S. border. However, it remains unclear whether any immediate action will be taken regarding the northern border with Canada.

Reports indicate that Trump’s extensive Day One agenda includes a mass deportation initiative, with initial operations slated to begin in Chicago immediately following his inauguration.

This crackdown will coincide with a proposed citizenship order aimed at ending automatic citizenship for children born in the United States to undocumented immigrants, a move that would significantly reshape U.S. immigration policy.

“On Day One of my new term in office, I will sign an executive order making clear to federal agencies that under the correct interpretation of the law, going forward, the future children of illegal aliens will not receive automatic US citizenship,” Trump said in a video posted in May of 2023.

This order would conflict with the 14th Amendment and is likely to face legal challenges in court.

Additionally, Trump has pledged to revoke the security clearances of 51 national security officials linked to the Hunter Biden laptop controversy before the 2020 presidential election.

Furthermore, he plans to suspend government offshore wind leases, terminate the Biden administration’s electric vehicle mandates for automakers, and withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord, according to Fox News.

“I want to be a dictator for one day because I’m gonna get going with, ‘Drill, baby, drill,’” Trump said on the campaign trail, referring to domestic oil production. “After that, I’ll never be a dictator.”

Trump also plans to implement federal workforce policies requiring employees to adhere to his directives, emphasizing that hiring will be based on merit. Additionally, he will mandate that federal workers return to office settings rather than continuing to work remotely.

“There is a massive federal workforce that has been moving its objectives at the expense of the American people and President Trump is taking command, saying, ‘You will serve the American people and only American people,’ ” the official told Fox.

“This is about stopping corrupt, abusive behaviour and re-focusing the government on its fundamental duties to the American people.”
