Siminalayi Fubara, the Governor of Rivers State, has claimed that there are plans to mobilize 20 individuals per unit to attack the newly sworn-in local government Chairmen. He urged them to prioritize peace and be strategic in their responses.

Fubara issued this warning during the swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected local government Chairmen at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Sunday evening.

Of the newly sworn-in chairmen, 22 represent the Action Peoples Party, while one was elected under the Action Alliance.

Fubara said: “I’m aware that there are plans to mobilise 20 people per unit to confront you when you return to your local government headquarters.

“If they come with violence, avoid them. The peace of this state is too important to us. Everyone knows what they are planning, but I urge you to follow my approach.

“At the right time, you will always win if you are patient and calculative. We have made our promises to our people, and we are committed to leading them to the Promised Land.”
