Two people were killed when bandits attacked Maibakko village in Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State. However, police responded swiftly, repelling the attack and rescuing 13 kidnapped victims.

According to police sources, the attack took place in the early hours of Thursday, February 6, when heavily armed bandits stormed the village, firing indiscriminately and abducting residents.

Upon receiving a distress call at around 1:43 a.m., operatives from the Sabuwa Divisional Police Headquarters engaged the assailants in a fierce gun battle.

The spokesperson for the state police command, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, told reporters that the gunfire exchange forced the attackers to flee, leading to the successful rescue of 13 abducted persons.
