Trump Orders Release of Additional Epstein Court Documents Amid Growing Pressure
U.S. President Donald Trump has directed the Justice Department to release further court documents related to disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, responding to mounting demands from his supporters for transparency.
“Due to the ridiculous amount of publicity surrounding Jeffrey Epstein, I have asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce any and all relevant Grand Jury testimony, subject to court approval,” Trump announced in a post.
It remains unclear if the documents will be made public, as grand jury materials typically require a judge’s approval for release. Attorney General Bondi confirmed her office is prepared to move the court as early as tomorrow to request the unsealing of grand jury transcripts.
The president’s directive follows a Wall Street Journal report alleging that a suggestive birthday greeting bearing Trump’s name was sent to Epstein in 2003.
The letter, allegedly included in a collection compiled by Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell, featured typewritten text within an outline of a naked woman and a fabricated conversation between Trump and Epstein.
Trump rejected the letter as “fake,” stating, “These are not my words, not the way I talk. Also, I don’t draw pictures.” He also revealed plans to sue the newspaper.
Maxwell, who was convicted in 2021 for aiding Epstein in the sex trafficking of minors, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence.
While it is unclear whether Trump’s order concerns Epstein’s earlier 2000s cases or the 2019 federal charges, Bondi recently claimed the Justice Department found no so-called “client list” of high-profile individuals tied to Epstein’s crimes. She also reaffirmed that Epstein’s 2019 death was ruled a suicide, pushing back against widespread conspiracy theories.
Trump’s renewed push comes after criticism from some supporters over delays and perceived backtracking. Bondi’s earlier promise to reveal key evidence — including flight logs and names of visitors to Epstein’s private island — was later walked back, sparking outrage and calls for her resignation.
Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk hailed the president’s move, saying, “This is massive. It’s something we’ve been calling for, and it’s a big win for the grassroots.”
Epstein died in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges, more than a decade after his controversial 2006 Florida plea deal on lesser charges despite serious allegations involving minors.
