Troost-Ekong Vows Super Eagles Will Fight For Victory Against Benin Republic
Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has assured fans that the team is fully ready and determined to secure all three points in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash against Benin Republic.
Nigeria will face the Cheetahs in a crucial matchday 10 encounter at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo today.
Éric Chelle’s side currently sits third in Group C with 14 points from nine games and must defeat Benin while hoping South Africa drop points against Rwanda to keep their qualification hopes alive.
Addressing reporters at a press conference, Troost-Ekong admitted that the outcome is not entirely under their control but emphasized the team’s commitment to a strong performance.
“There are players here who want to make their mark and be remembered in history,” he said. “Tomorrow may not be fully in our hands, but we will give everything to win the match.”
