Taraba State’s political landscape shifted sharply on Monday as all lawmakers elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party including those who recently crossed into its fold, dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress.
The Speaker led the exodus, with the legislators pointing to the turbulence rocking the PDP at the national level and the desire to align with the party at the centre to attract stronger federal backing for the state.
Their move comes just days before Governor Agbu Kefas is expected to formalise his own defection to the APC on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
With this mass decampment, the Taraba State House of Assembly now stands entirely under the APC banner all 24 seats unified under a single party for the first time in the state’s history.
