Professor Sulaiman Predicts APC Victory in 2027 Kwara Election

Former governorship hopeful Prof. Wale Sulaiman insists the APC will maintain its dominance in Kwara State by the 2027 elections, prioritizing public service over ongoing internal party disputes.

Professor Wale Sulaiman, a neurosurgeon and former APC governorship contender in Kwara State, believes his party will maintain its hold on power during the 2027 elections. Despite recent internal tension following the governorship primaries, he remains certain that party members will set aside their grievances.

Addressing reporters in Ilorin, Sulaiman described the internal friction as regrettable. He urged fellow politicians to prioritize governance and the well-being of the public over individual interests. Regarding the primary, he noted that all participants voluntarily entered the process, making it difficult to challenge the final result simply because they were not the victors.

Sulaiman addressed the G-15 group, suggesting that any grievances regarding the party primaries should have been directed through official internal channels. He affirmed that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is the undisputed leader of the APC in the state, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s stance on the influence of governors in succession processes.

Focusing on the state’s future, the professor emphasized that political efforts should be centered on solving pressing issues like unemployment, poverty, insecurity, and failing infrastructure. He highlighted his own ‘Kwara Prosperity Agenda,’ which focused on practical solutions for youth empowerment and healthcare. Ultimately, Sulaiman is convinced that the APC’s governing record will be the key to winning the 2027 election, as voters are competent at judging the impact of past and current administrations.
