Rabi’u Kwankwaso, who served as the vice presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, has expressed strong support for the Catholic Bishops following their recent discussion with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja.
Writing on his verified X account, Kwankwaso praised the religious leaders for their patriotic bravery in highlighting the difficult conditions currently affecting the nation. He rejected claims that the Bishops were being politically motivated when they raised issues regarding inflation, insecurity, and the widespread loss of public trust.
The former Kano State governor stated that these concerns represent the genuine struggles of common citizens regardless of their location. He expressed regret that many Nigerians face severe poverty, joblessness, and poor infrastructure despite the country’s vast wealth. Kwankwaso called for leadership that is honest and focused on the needs of the people. He encouraged citizens to continue holding the government accountable to ensure that security and public welfare remain the top priorities.
