Suspected cult member detained in Benue with homemade firearm

Operation Whirl Stroke troops captured a suspected cultist in Katsina-Ala, Benue State, recovering a homemade pistol and ammunition during a security sweep.

Military forces under Operation Whirl Stroke successfully apprehended an alleged cult member in Katsina-Ala, Benue State, while seizing a homemade pistol and ammunition. Security expert Zagazola Makama reported the incident on X, noting the operation occurred on June 22 at approximately 7:10 p.m.

Intelligence reports linked the man to various cult-related issues plaguing the region. During the arrest, soldiers confiscated the improvised firearm, two cartridges, and a bag of personal items. The individual is presently being held as authorities conduct a probe into his specific role and search for potential associates.

Military officials indicated that this capture aligns with broader campaigns to reduce criminal activity and cultism throughout Benue and its surrounding borders. Operation Whirl Stroke continues to enhance its patrol intensity and intelligence gathering to restore order and safety in the area.
