Kirandeep Kaur, a 24-year-old mother from India, was tragically killed while sleeping in her Hayes home alongside her husband and infant. Her younger sister, Gursharan, spoke to the media from their family home in the Majha region of Punjab, expressing deep sorrow and stating that her sibling was her entire world.
Kaur moved to the United Kingdom in September 2024 to pursue studies at Buckinghamshire New University. After graduating, she began working at a local grocery store to help support her relatives back in India. Her sister described her as an incredibly bright, hardworking individual who consistently prioritized the needs of her family over her own.
The family is currently struggling to process the news and is calling for the return of Kaur’s body to India for a proper funeral. The local Sikh community has held multiple vigils to honor her memory, an act for which the bereaved family expressed their gratitude.
Meanwhile, legal proceedings have commenced against the suspect. Daniel Sean James, 46, appeared at the Old Bailey via video link to face charges of murder, attempted murder, and possession of a bladed article. He is currently remanded in custody, with a plea hearing scheduled for October 1.
