Seven Policemen, Four Others Killed in Zamfara Community Bandit Attack
Armed bandits attacked Magarya community in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing 11 persons, including seven mobile police officers and four civilians.
A Lecturer Aminu Muhammad Kaura, who confirmed the incident, said the bandits attacked the community on Wednesday evening, June 5, 2024.
Three cars, including one belonging to the district head of Magarya, who is also the brother of the former speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nasir Magarya, were also destroyed.
“Yesterday evening armed bandits paid a deadly Attack at Magarya town of zurmi Local government area of zamfara state where they killed 11 people including 7 mobile police officers and four civilians, burned 3 cars including one car belongs to the district head of magarya 2th, who is also the blood brother of the former speaker zamfara state house of assembly Nasir Magarya,” he wrote.
“In this dastardly act perpetuated by the armed bandits at Magarya town the parlor and chairs in the house of the former speaker zamfara state House of assembly Hon Nasir magarya were set ablaze completely
“Also Magarya model primary school was set ablaze and many people sustained different degrees of injuries.
“We condole with the Hon former speaker zamfara state House of assembly Hon Nasir magarya and the people of magarya town over this terrible incident
“We pray God Almighty to replace with you something better than what you have lost, rest the soul of the deceased persons in the eternal peace, heal those who have got injuries, protect this dastardly act from further reoccurrence and expose the unscrupulous animals who have a hand in it as well as make them to face the full wrath of the law.”
Meanwhile, a Facebook user, Abubakar Kiyawa Magarya disclosed that his elder brother was killed in the attack.
