Reuben Abati Slams Lagos Traffic Authority Over Road Closures During Tinubu’s Visit
Media personality Reuben Abati has condemned officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) for blocking several roads in Lagos due to President Bola Tinubu’s visit to the state.
President Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Tuesday, May 27, to attend the 50th ECOWAS anniversary, commission projects, and celebrate the Muslim festival. To facilitate the movement of his motorcade, authorities restricted access to certain routes, causing severe traffic congestion across the state.
Abati, who frequently uses one of the affected roads, voiced his frustration during a broadcast segment. He criticized the disruption, arguing that residents should not be subjected to such inconveniences simply because of the President’s presence.
“Commuters and motorists are left stranded for hours, all because the President is in town. This is unacceptable,” Abati stated.
