Real Madrid’s Camavinga Suffers Groin Injury
Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a groin injury, the club confirmed on Thursday.
The French international sustained the injury during Los Blancos’ 1-0 victory over Getafe in their La Liga clash on Wednesday.
“Following tests carried out today on our player Eduardo Camavinga by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with a complete rupture of the left adductor tendon,” said Madrid in a statement.
Spanish media reports that Eduardo Camavinga will miss Saturday’s Copa del Rey final against arch-rivals Barcelona, in addition to Real Madrid’s final five La Liga fixtures, as they aim to narrow the points gap on the Catalan league leaders.
Reports also indicate that Camavinga could miss the upcoming Club World Cup in the United States this summer, as his recovery is expected to take approximately three months.
The 22-year-old has had a challenging season in terms of consistency, despite having been instrumental in Real Madrid’s La Liga and Champions League victories last year.
