Police Deploy to PDP Secretariat in Rivers Amid Ongoing Leadership Crisis

Personnel from the Nigerian Police have taken control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Secretariat on Aba Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

A tactical unit from the Rivers State Police Command deployed a special squad to the area, blocking a section of the road and the main entrance with a patrol van, restricting access to the premises.

This blockade has disrupted traffic flow, forcing motorists to use a single lane along the busy Aba Road.

The development follows the emergence of a new leadership within the PDP in Rivers State, after a Rivers State High Court removed Aaron Chukwuemeka and his executive committee, appointing Nname Robinson Ewor as the Acting Chairman.

Ewor addressed party members, affirming that Chukwuemeka is no longer recognized as the PDP State Chairman, although he may continue as Chairman of the Grassroots Development Initiative (GDI).

Ewor also confirmed that Governor Siminalayi Fubara remains the leader of the PDP in the state due to his position as governor, and urged the public to disregard any claims that former Governor Nyesom Wike, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is the party’s leader in Rivers State.
