Police Apprehend Four Suspects In Edo For Stealing Diamond Earrings And Other Valuables
The Edo Police Command has apprehended four robbery suspects accused of stealing a diamond ring, headphones, and valuables worth millions of Naira.
During his first press briefing in Benin City on October 30, 2024, State Commissioner of Police CP Umoru Peter Ozigi presented the four suspects along with others.
The CP reported that the suspects were arrested after Daramola Gabriel filed a complaint stating that armed robbers had broken into his home and stolen his possessions.
“On Wednesday, 23rd October 2024, a report was received from one Daramola Gabriel (male) stating that on the same date, at approximately 0400 hours, armed robbers invaded his home at the back of One World Hotel, South-Ibie, and stole valuables worth millions of Naira,” the CP stated.
“On Saturday, 26th October 2024, at about 0900 hours, while at the park trying to board a vehicle, he spotted a young man wearing his stolen diamond earring and headphones.
“He informed the police, who promptly took action and arrested the suspect, Osakpolor Edobor (male, 20 years old), who confessed to having purchased the items from someone at Darisco Hotel, South-Ibie.”
“Further investigation led to the arrest of the following suspects: Oshoike Malik, male, 23, Aliu Rabak, male, 27, and Alor Ojo, male, 24.
“One locally made cut-to-size gun and some of the stolen items were recovered from the suspects.
“They will be charged to court following the completion of the investigation,” the CP added.
