Adams Oshiomhole, the senator representing Edo North, jokingly accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of breaking a non-aggression pact during a Thursday plenary session. The dispute stems from Akpabio referencing a viral video that allegedly depicted Oshiomhole massaging a woman’s leg on a private plane.
Akpabio claimed the Senate had previously dismissed the footage, suspecting it was produced with artificial intelligence. The video, which emerged on X on February 3, 2026, caused significant public outcry at the time, leading Oshiomhole to publicly insist the clip was fabricated.
During the meeting, Oshiomhole addressed the Senate President, noting they had reached a ceasefire regarding personal attacks. He told the chamber that Akpabio violated this promise by bringing up the old matter again. In response, Akpabio offered an apology if his remarks had caused any offense or distress to the senator.
