One Dead, Three Injured In Lagos Building Collapse
One person has been confirmed dead and three others critically injured following the collapse of a one-storey building under construction at 96 Ishaga Road, directly opposite the Idi Araba Central Mosque, on Sunday afternoon, May 18.
The incident was confirmed by Ibrahim Farinloye, the Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos Territorial Office, in an official statement.
“So far, one person has been confirmed dead, while three others have been rescued alive. Search and rescue operations are ongoing continue” the statement read.
Responding agencies at the scene included the Isolo Fire Station of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps, the Lagos State Ambulance Service, and the Nigeria Police.
The exact cause of the building collapse remains unknown, as investigations are currently ongoing.
