One Dead, Three Injured After DHL Cargo Plane Crashes Near Lithuanian Capital
A DHL cargo plane crashed near the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, this morning, November 25, resulting in one fatality and injuries to three others.
The Lithuanian airport authority identified the aircraft as a “DHL cargo plane flying from Leipzig, Germany, to Vilnius Airport.”
A search is ongoing for a fourth individual following the crash of a plane operated by DHL through the Spanish cargo airline Swiftair.
Local authorities reported that the aircraft went down near a house while on its final approach for landing.

Police confirmed that 12 individuals have been safely evacuated from a house near the crash site.
Vilmantas Vitkauskas, head of the country’s National Crisis Management Center said: “One crew member was found without any signs of life, two were rescued, they were taken to hospital.”
The incident happened at about 5.30 am local timenear Zirniu Street, south of the capital, an airport spokesperson said.
“The city’s special services are working at the scene and leading the rescue efforts, as well as crews from the Vilnius Airport Fire Service,” the airport spokesperson said.
The spokesperson mentioned that due to “ongoing rescue operations near Vilnius Airport,” departures for several flights have been delayed, though all scheduled flights are still operating.
It was also posted on the social platform X that city services, including a fire truck, were on the scene.
Two individuals were transported to the hospital by medics, with one later being pronounced deceased. According to initial reports from Saulius Raševskis, a representative of the Situation Coordination Unit of the Fire and Rescue Department (PAGD), these individuals were on board the aircraft.
